CHICAGO, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Ford on Tuesday debuted a series of new vehicles at the Shanghai auto show, in a bid to make a quick turnaround in the world's biggest auto market.

As part of the "Ford China 2.0" transformation blueprint, the U.S. auto maker introduced all-new Ford Escape ST-Line, the new Ford Edge ST and ST-Line, and the all-new luxurious American pickup Ford F-150 Limited at the 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition.

"We are working hard to earn the trust of more consumers in the market as we transform our business and sharpen our focus on meeting the needs of the Chinese customer," Anning Chen, president and CEO of Ford China was quoted as saying.

Through Ford's new "330" product plan, Ford plans to launch more than 30 new Ford and Lincoln vehicles in China over the next three years, including more than 10 electrified vehicles.

The new models unveiled at this year's Shanghai auto show demonstrate the company's "Best of Ford, Best of China" commitment, Ford said in a statement.

During the first quarter of 2019, Ford sold a total of 136,279 vehicles in China, suffering a 35.8 percent decline year on year.

The U.S. auto maker is now taking a series of measures to revive its market performance in China.

Apart from launching more products geared toward Chinese tastes, Ford has also reduced its suggested retail prices on selected models and offered Chinese consumers special incentives, financing programs and after-sales services.

Earlier this month, Ford announced that it will set up four centers in China, respectively focused on innovation, design, products and new energy vehicles.
