PARIS, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Moussa Dembele's injury-time header gifted Lyon another Rhone derby victory of 2-1 over Saint-Etienne, while Marseille returned to winning track by edging Caen 1-0 in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Dembele silenced home fans by jumping highest over two Saint-Etienne defenders and seeing his header from Leo Dubois' cross on target in the 5th minute of injury time.

Lyon won both clashes in the league this season after having triumphed 1-0 at their stadium, also leapfrogging their derby opponents into third with one more point.

Memphis Depay's lob was tipped by Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier over the crossbar 12 minutes into the duel. At the other end, the hosts managed to find a deadlock-breaking goal nine minutes later, as Romain Hamouma was on position to nod Gabriel Silva's left-flank cross into the net.

Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes put on strong display of his own, finishing consecutive blocks on Wahbi Khazri's attempts in the 62nd minute.

The visitors leveled the score three minutes later. Saint-Etienne's skipper Loic Perrin was penalized for a handball inside the box, and his Lyon counterpart Nabil Fekir converted the resulting spot kick.

Lyon were made to sweat late in the duel. Lopes saved the first attempt from Remy Cabella, before a fearless Dubois denied Lois Diony's shot. Then Dembele sealed the visitors' win at the death.

Winless in nine previous matches of all competitions, Marseille appeared to falter again as their captain Dimitri Payet hobbled off the pitch before the half hour mark.

Morgan Sanson, in place of injured Payet, turned out to be the decisive factor by heading home on Kevin Strootman's cross two minutes after the restart.

Caen were reduced to 10 men shortly afterwards following Frederic Guilbert's second yellow card of the match.

The much-needed victroy lift Marseille up to 7th place, while Caen sit 16th.

Also on Sunday, Angelo Fulgini scored in Angers' 1-0 win over Nantes four minutes into stoppage time. Bordeaux beat Dijon by the same score thanks to Andreas Cornelius' goal. Rennes forced a goalless home draw with sixth-ranked Montpellier.

Paris Saint-Germain registered their largest home win on Saturday by taming Guingamp 9-0, leading the table by 13 points with two fewer matches played.
