PARIS, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Paris Saint-Germain gained a commanding 9-0 revenge on bottom side Guingamp at home in Ligue 1 following their latest setback in domestic cup.

Ten days after losing to the same side in the Franch League Cup quarterfinals seeing their winning streak in domestic cups ended, PSG recorded their joint biggest ever league win following a rout of Troyes by the same score back in 2016, also setting up their largest victory at the Parc des Princes.

The attacking trio of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar combined to score eight goals, with Mbappe and Cavani both registering hat-tricks. Thomas Meunier capped PSG's scoring extravaganza.

PSG built their lead 11 minutes into the duel, when Neymar collected fellow Brazilian Dani Alves' fine pass, chipped the ball over one defender before firing home.

Mbappe played a one-two with Neymar to score in the 37th minute, and moved the host three goals in front into halftime due to a mistake from Guingamp defender Felix Eboa Eboa.

PSG didn't restrain their attacking firepower after the restart. Cavani began to do his own part by steering passes from Juan Bernat and Angel Di Maria into the net.

After Neymar extended PSG's margin to six goals, Cavani and Mbappe snatched their respective third goal of the match. The Belgian defender Meunier was also on target with a cool finish seven minutes from time.

Having played two fewer matches, PSG sit 13 points clear of second-positioned Lille.

The only consolation following a humiliating loss for Guingamp was that Monaco, one point ahead of them, fell 5-1 at home to Strasbourg.

Brazilian veteran Naldo's dismissal seven minutes into the match was somewhat a signal of slump for Monaco, who conceded consecutive goals from Ludovic Ajorque and Adrien Thomasson.

After Colombian striker Radamel Falcao pulled one back in the 22nd minute, Strasbourg showed no mercy in the second half, as Ibrahima Sissoko, Ajorque and Youssouf Fofana all scored.

Monaco, still winless at home in the league, have gone deeper into the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Yaya Sanogo's goal was enough to lift Toulouse 1-0 past Nimes. Nice snatched a point in a 1-1 draw at Reims through Remi Walter's spot kick in the ninth minute of stoppage time.

Sunday's Rhone derby between Saint-Etienne and Lyon will decide the third place at the table, as Saint-Etienne sit ahead with two more points.
