TEHRAN, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Iran's foreign minister on Monday urged the European parties to help protect 2015 international nuclear deal against the threats of the U.S. president.

"European leaders should encourage President Trump not just to stay in the nuclear deal, but more importantly to begin implementing his part of the bargain in good faith," Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted on Monday.

"It's either all or nothing ... there's no Plan B on JCPOA," Zarif said.

In January, U.S. President Donald Trump set 120-day time for the U.S. lawmakers and the European signatories of the deal to fix parts of the deal what he has referred to as "terrible flaws."

Trump has stressed that the United States and its Euopean allies involved in the contract should develop mechanisms to fix the "Sunset Clauses" in the deal by May 12, otherwise he would withdraw from the agreement.

He has described the accord, internationally known as the JCPOA, as "the worst deal" the United States has ever had.

However, Iranian officials have been defiant to the threats and vowed to retaliate U.S. threats to possibly withdraw from the deal.
